1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

Main Title Feedback / Advice for recording with European Orchestras

Discussion in 'Critique & Feedback' started by Felix Watson, Aug 20, 2019.

  1. Thanks so much Doug! You are such a legend for doing that. I have watched it once and am going to watch again later just to take some notes and make sure I haven't missed anything. I'm recording this with Budapest scoring at the end of the month. I know Mark a little bit and have been to his place. I actually sent this to him but he obviously hasn't gotten around to taking a look yet.

I think I agree with everything you said - it was just that one bit that you thought 'looked fucked' in the strings where I'm not sure what you mean / how it could be straightened out. It was just after your 'Gordon Ramsey Moment' with the horns... I understand you're busy, but if you get a moment to expand on this I'd love to hear it. Just got to figure out how to fix all these engraving things in Dorico. It's not really been something I've worried about much before (as you have pointed out). I'll edit this if I think of anything more. But thanks a lot for taking the time like that.

I particularly enjoyed your AP comment. Very on point. Let's just say I never had the opportunity to study orchestration with him...

    Best,

    Felix
