Who is this guy?

    So I ran into this piece



    And it clearly says "Brian Shyer". When you look up the album on Spotify, Pandora, Deezer it all throws the same name. All music recognition apps point to this exact recording as well, no matter where in the piece you record your 5 seconds. However, the name itself only returns this piece on this album.

    PPL search returns "RICHARD KAUFMAN AND THE LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA" (conductor and the orchestra), as it does for all the pieces on this album.

    Is it an alias? Because you don't just drop a piece like this and disappear into the fucking mist, right? There are serious chops on display here.

    So who is this guy? Is this perhaps a reharm of some other piece/theme I'm not recognizing?

    I contacted the A&R manager of Varèse Sarabande. I guessed they might know more. I'll let you know once i know more! IF it is a reharm then they probably were not allowed to credit this Bryan as the composer.

    is a composer, pianist and longtime Performing Arts teacher. He performed on Broadway in John Kander and Fred Ebb’s “The Happy Time.” His compositions have been recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra and played by major orchestras throughout the country. As an actor, he has appeared in many plays and musicals, including three productions by Rodgers & Hammerstein.

    Can't you decrease the size of the staves to allow for more space?

    Yes, it could use better staffal distancing. I'll work the score layout parameters when I return to the transcribe.

    Funny, I seem to have that too. More encouraging about my work but also more honest and with far more comparisons to the streets of LA/NY.
