Hi there. I took some inspiration from this VIC thread where the user "DarkestShadow" made an attempt to make the violins in Hollywood Strings more playable. I hate keyswitches as much as him and so I decided to try and make a playable cello patch following the same principles.

Here is the original VIC thread: https://vi-control.net/community/th...llywood-strings-violins-super-playable.68562/

His demonstration of the playable violins is quite impressive, imo: http://picosong.com/wy7ei/

These patches obviously can't do everything but it's just so much easier to have a patch like this in a template. I can play shorts, marcatos, sforzandos, but I can also simply hold out sus chords and it can do runs too. It's not perfect, but nothing is and frankly, in a mix, this is more than good enough. I honestly feel it's pretty much on par with Adventure Strings.

Here are two crappy demos because the velocity response on my keyboard sucks and I can't play, but should still get the idea across. So, just to recap, this is one patch, no articulation switching:

Here's the patch (MID mics loaded, exported from Hollywood Strings Diamond so I have no idea if it'll work for gold users. If not, let me know and I'll write down the settings so you can build the patch yourself):

Also, here's "DarkestShadow" playable violin patch (I recreated it from his video with some minor tweaks):

Hope this is useful to some people. The violas can probably also be tweaked into a similar patch. Basses might prove a little trickier. And after that... it's onto the brass!
  2. Sure.
Matthias, could update this link (patch)?
    I can´t download it.
    Thank you very much.

  4. Thanks Matthias.
I am trying to create my own patch(es) with multiple articulations for "key switching" (I am working on "Template Balancing")
My DAW is FL Studio and I use BRSO Articulate (Think of it as an FL Studio version of Cubase's VST Note Expression mapping)
But, I am not an advanced user of Play (EW)
Could you recommend any video(s) creating "Play patches"?
There are a lot of articulations in Hollywood Strings. Which ones are using Mike? Sorry, but I am not sure.
