Free Piano Sampling Project - Any wishes?

So, just for the hell of it, I decided to sample the grand piano at my parent's house. I know, I know, there's like a million piano sample libraries already, but I'm not doing this for the dough. In fact, I have every intention of releasing the final product for free (not sure yet if it'll be kontakt or UVI).

I've already ran a few tests and while I don't own the most top-of-the-line microphones, I'm pretty pleased with the results so far. The piano I'm sampling is Berdux Munchen grand piano. I've forgotten to write down the exact serial number, but it's a fairly old piano with an extremely light touch. Naturally, I like the sound of it but that's probably because I grew up with it.

The reason for this topic is that I'm curious if anyone has any particular wishes, something they feel their (collection) of sampled pianos is missing. I can't make any promises, but I am more than happy to take suggestions into account!

So far the plan is to sample the following:

1. Whole-tone sampled
2. 4 round robins
3. pp, mp, mf, ff
4. With and without pedal
5. One microphone position (I have to stay sane somehow!)

Of course, I can't make any promises about when it will be finished since I am doing this on my own time, and frankly, just for the fun of it. As I said, suggestions are welcome! I was personally thinking of maybe doing some extended techniques like plucked strings and other effects.

If there's any interest, I'd also be happy to release the cleaned up samples, just by themselves, so other people can make an instrument out of it (though I like to think I am doing a good job so far ).

Here's a little demo so you can get a sense of the sound so far. This is from my test sample data. I've only implemented 1 round robin yet and only 1 dynamic layer (pp/p). I've bumped up the volume a bit to make it all more audible, so if you're hearing noise, please keep in mind that these samples were played quite low. I'm only bumping them up for demonstration purposes. Lastly... please excuse my horrendous playing o.0 it's the middle of the night and I hadn't any clue what to play!



Oh and I'm aware that the release triggers are probably too noticeable. I think I'll make an adjustable release trigger volume knob because personally I kind of like that click-y sound

There's a bit of QL space sprinkled on top and, again, the output volume has been boosted pretty hard.

I've toyed around a bit more with what I have sampled so far and while I'm pleased with it as a simple test, I did find some noise issues, so I'll likely do a re-recording tomorrow. I'll try to get some cleaner recordings, do some test with those and will then settle on a final list of things to record.
