1. Didja accidentally blow through the whole, "We're using our real names" thing on registration? No problem, just send me (Mike) a Conversation message and I'll get you sorted, by which I mean hammered-into-obedient-line because I'm SO about having a lot of individuality-destroying, oppressive shit all over my forum.

  1. Making something nice with words that do not rhyme and have no consistent meter.

  2. Nice work!

    Thanks for sharing.

Nice to know the Bach prelude #1 still gets listened to. The power of the circle of 5ths and chord inversions.

I think my favorite part is the "to the republic" where after the opening 1-2-5-1 you descend with the Gmaj7/F# to C/E, B/D#, EMin7/D, A7/C#
or something along those lines. A nice change in texture the second time around too.

Look forward to hearing more of your work

    Be well.

  3. I only steal from the best!

But thank you -- very kind to take a listen. :)

  4. One other thing I sought to do was make sure that, for a song to (hopefully) be sung by anybody, and to maximize memorability, was have fewer than 3 intervals greater than a P5.

  5. The arrangement is solid. Great work. Seems to me now you just need to "get it out there" as far and wide as possible so many, many people hear it.

I wish you the best of luck with it, and sure many positive opportunities will arise from it.

You know one idea just popped into my head: This tune, and your arrangement here kinda also screams out that it would be perfect for a marching/concert band version.
High schools and universities would be interested for sure. I'm thinking of people like my friend Scott Jones who is the head of Ohio State University marching band. They do themed
    half time shows every game.

Well....I guess once COVID passes and we have full stadiums of people again.

  6. Ohio State -- that's quite a program! I'm already hearing the intro before the melody with snares, a tight bass drum, tubular bells, and mellophone/trombone chords haha.

Does COVID19 travel through spit valves?
